I was consistent… just with the wrong things

Hello Reader,

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

News of the Week

One week ago, my dad celebrated another year of life with us.

And this week, I came across an old memory…

The time we had the privilege of celebrating his 60th birthday here in Australia.

The memory itself? Priceless. Magical.
One of those moments you never forget.

But the photo?

Different story...

There I was… holding his birthday cake.

Big belly.
Overweight.
Unfit.

And it reminded me of something important:

I was consistent.

Just consistent with the wrong things.

Because if consistency alone was the key to success…

Most people would already be successful.

The truth is…

Most people are consistent.

They consistently sit on their ass.
They consistently make excuses.
They consistently choose comfort.
They consistently skip workouts.
They consistently say, “I’ll start Monday.”

For a long time…

I was one of them.

So why aren’t more parents fit, active, and full of energy?

Because consistency alone doesn’t matter.

You can be incredibly consistent…

At doing the things keeping you stuck.

The real question is:

What are you being consistent with?

Because consistency in the wrong actions will take you nowhere.

But consistency in the right actions?

That can take you anywhere.

If you want better health…

Be consistent with:

  • Moving daily
  • Training a few times each week
  • Eating mostly real food
  • Sleeping better
  • Keeping promises to yourself

Take a minute today and audit your habits.

Not what you want.

What you repeatedly do.

Because your future is built there.

Learn the difference.

Apply the difference.

Build... with fitness as the foundation.

Quote of the Week

Recipe of the Week

MISO HALIBUT PAPILLOTE

Serves 2

8 oz. (225g) green beans

1 large shallot, thinly sliced

1 small red bell pepper, thinly

sliced

2x 6 oz. (170g) halibut filets,

skin removed

2 tbsp. white miso paste

2 tbsp. tamari

1 tsp. fish sauce

1 tbsp. sriracha sauce

1 tbsp. honey

½ tsp. salt, or more to taste

½ tsp. white pepper

What you need to do

Preheat the oven to 400F (200 C). Lay 2 sheets of parchment

paper on a flat surface.

Evenly divide the green beans, shallot, and red bell pepper

between the 2 pieces of parchment paper, placing the ingredients

in the center of the parchment paper. Place the halibut filet on top.

with the avocado salsa.

In a small bowl, whisk together the miso, tamari, fish sauce,

sriracha and honey. Pour the sauce equally over the halibut filets.

Season the fish with salt and the white pepper.

Fold down the short ends of the parchment paper over the fish,

making a rectangle. Then, grab the open ends and roll towards the

fish so that no liquids can escape, creating an enclosed package.

Place the parcels on a sheet pan and transfer to the hot oven. Bake

for 13 15 minutes, until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.

Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Hello Reader, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU. Let me know what you think of this newsletter please? News of the Week Last week I kicked off a new soccer season with my new team. At 37 years old, with average technical ability… My biggest assets aren’t skill. They’re: Fitness, Energy, Leadership …and most importantly, a winning mentality. Some of the younger kids have unreal talent. I genuinely admire their skill. But when it comes to being the hardest worker in the room? They don’t come close. And...

Hello Reader, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU. Let me know what you think of this newsletter please? News of the Week This year, I moved towns. New environment. New routines. New normal. And during that transition… I focused on my family, my fitness, and settling into work and school life. But I’ll be honest… At times, I felt like I was letting my community down. And it led me to ask a simple question: Who do you surround yourself with? ...Have you ever really thought about that? That question...

So the question is… How are we honouring that? One way we can thank Him is by taking care of our bodies… Physically, Mentally, Spiritually. But instead… Most parents choose comfort. They let fear hold them back. They let convenience...
