Your family needs your story

Hello Reader,

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

News of the Week

Today I took the boys to the park.

No running for me just yet... but that didn't matter!

Because today wasn't about movement.

It was about presence.

No phone. No Air Pods. No distractions.

Just me... and them.

Watching my boys laugh.

Climb. Imagine. Play.

Their little world...

My whole world.

Standing there, I realised something.

This is partly a reminder to myself...

But maybe you need to hear it too.

You matter.

More than you think.

I know life feels heavy sometimes.

Bills.

Work.

Kids.

Responsibilities.

You wonder if you're doing enough.

You wonder if anyone notices.

You wonder if you're falling behind.

I've had those thoughts too.

But here's what I'm learning.

Every season is shaping you.

Even the hard ones.

Especially the fuckn hard ones.

The setbacks.

The injuries.

The uncertainty.

The moments where nothing seems to be moving.

They're all doing something inside you.

One day you'll look back on this season and realise...

It wasn't breaking you.

It was building you.

And while you're busy worrying about whether you're enough...

Your kids are just happy you're there.

Not because you planned the perfect day.

Not because you bought them another toy.

Because you were present.

The world doesn't need a perfect version of you.

Your family doesn't either.

They need your story.

Your resilience.

Your faith.

Your laughter.

Your mistakes.

Your hugs.

Your example.

That's what they'll remember.

Time moves fast...

Too damn fast.

These really are the good old days.

So don't spend them waiting for life to calm down before you start living.

Put the phone away.

Get on the grass.

Throw the ball.

Push the swing.

Laugh a little louder.

Because your presence today becomes someone else's favourite memory tomorrow.

And that's a legacy worth building.

Recipe of the Week

SWEET POTATO PROTEIN PANCAKES

Serves 2 (2 large pancakes per serving)

Sweet potato protein pancakes:

1 large sweet potato, cooked & mashed

7.9 oz. (225g) egg whites

1 oz. (30g) vanilla protein powder

1.2 oz. (35g) ground flaxseed

2 tsp. baking powder

1⁄2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

1⁄8 tsp. sea salt

1⁄8 tsp. ground cinnamon

1 tbsp. coconut oil, for cooking

To serve:

2 tbsp. chopped pecans, for garnish

2 tbsp. maple syrup, for serving

What you need to do

In a blender, add all the ingredients for the pancakes, except for the

coconut oil, and blitz until smooth.

Add the coconut oil to a non-stick skillet and place over a medium-

high heat. Pour 1⁄4 of the pancake batter into the hot skillet and cook

the pancake for 2-4 minutes, until bubbles start to appear in the

center of the pancake. Flip the pancake over and cook for a further

2-3 minutes, or until golden-brown and cooked through.

Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make 2 large pancakes.

Serve the pancakes warm with the chopped pecans and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Hello Reader, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU. Let me know what you think of this newsletter please? News of the Week This week we explored the winter lights display in town. The boys loved it. The colours. The music. The atmosphere. Last year I was on the ice rink looking like a baby giraffe trying to learn how to walk for the first time πŸ˜… This year? With my groin injury... There was absolutely no chance of me stepping onto the ice. So instead, we walked. We explored. And I spent a little time...

Hello Reader, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU. Let me know what you think of this newsletter please? News of the Week Three weeks ago I tore my groin. And if you've been following along, you'll know the injury didn't just take away my ability to run, train, or play soccer. It rocked my identity. The active dad. The runner. The soccer player. The guy who moves. Suddenly... I couldn't. But this week something changed... 1st gym session Hope returned... Not because I was magically healed. Not because...
