This might be uncomfortable to hear…

Hello Reader,

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Let me know what you think of this newsletter please?

News of the Week

I just wrapped up a running challenge with a group of high-level guys...

While simultaneously finishing a challenge I was running inside Elevation Empire.

And damn... Spring came in HOT.

Flowers blooming.

Allergies firing.

Work crazy AF (11 continuous work days).

Family life.

Physio.

Training.

Everything happening at once.

But having a challenge to complete...

And people around me holding a standard...

Kept me honest.

Going into it, my goals were actually pretty modest.

Remember, I'm still rebuilding after tearing my groin.

So I wasn't trying to prove anything.

My targets were:

10,000 steps every day.

And:

One 5km run/walk each week.

That was it.

Respect the injury. Follow the process. Build gradually.

But something interesting happened.

I ended up completing more than 42km of running...

4 gym sessions.

4 HIIT sessions with my community.

And more than 4,400 calories burned through those tracked activities...

Way beyond the target I'd originally set.

Why?

Partly because my body was capable of progressing.

But also because:

When you surround yourself with people who hold a higher standard, your own standards tend to rise.

And that's been sitting with me.

Because while I showed up fully for both challenges...

Not everyone finished.

Some started strong.

Some faded.

Some disappeared completely.

And I'm not saying that from some pedestal.

I've quit things too.

I've negotiated with myself.

I've had seasons where my actions looked nothing like the person I claimed I wanted to become.

Which is exactly why I think some of us need to hear this:

Your intentions don't get tallied.

Your actions do.

You can WANT to lose the weight.

You can WANT more energy.

You can WANT to feel confident again.

You can WANT to be healthier for your kids.

You can WANT to improve your marriage.

Your finances.

Your career.

Your faith.

And those desires can be completely genuine.

But eventually...

We have to look at what we're actually doing.

Because wanting something and building something are two very different things.

Take an honest look at the last 90 days.

Not with shame.

Not to beat the shit out of yourself.

Just honestly...

What have your actions been saying?

Did you keep the promises you made yourself?

Did you move your body?

Did you mostly eat in a way that supports the health you say you want?

Did you protect some time for the people you love?

Did you get back on track after a bad day...

Or turn one bad day into three bad weeks?

Did you keep showing up when nobody was checking?

Because here's the uncomfortable truth:

Your calendar doesn't care about your intentions.

Neither does your kids.

Your relationships can't survive on intentions alone.

And your body doesn't transform because you really, really wanted it to.

Eventually...

Something has to be done.

Now, I want to be careful here...

Not everything happening in your life is your fault.

Illness happens.

Injuries happen.

People lose jobs.

Kids stop sleeping.

Relationships change.

Life can hit you with things you never asked for and couldn't control.

I've experienced enough of that myself.

But here's what you still have:

Your next decision.

That's yours.

And that matters more than you think.

Because your actions today are quietly producing a result you won't see until later.

Today is a brick.

Tomorrow is a brick.

The workout is a brick.

The walk is a brick.

The meal is a brick.

Going to bed instead of scrolling is a brick.

Getting back on track after fucking up is a brick.

Asking for help is a brick.

Every decision is a fuckin brick.

And one brick doesn't look like much.

That's the problem.

You do one workout...

Nothing changes.

Eat well for three days...

Nothing changes.

Walk every day for a week...

Still look pretty much the same.

So you start wondering:

"Is this even working?"

But keep stacking.

Day after day.

Week after week.

Month after month.

And eventually...

You've built something.

That's exactly what happened with this challenge.

One run wasn't 42km.

One walk wasn't thousands of calories.

One session wasn't the result.

It accumulated.

That's how this shit works.

And it's why community matters too.

The right people don't do the reps for you.

They remind you of the standard you said you wanted to live by.

But ultimately?

...You still have to lay the brick.

There are 89 calendar days including today until the New Year.

Think about that.

Most people are already mentally writing this year off.

October.

Then Halloween.

Christmas parties.

Christmas.

New Year's Eve.

"I'll get serious in January."

Why?

Why throw away almost three months of your life waiting for an arbitrary date to give you permission to start?

Imagine walking into January already 89 days into becoming the person you said you wanted to be.

Not starting.

Continuing.

That's a completely different feeling.

So here's my challenge.

Don't promise yourself you're going to completely change your life tomorrow.

Pick your bricks.

Maybe it's:

8,000 steps.

Three workouts a week.

Protein at every meal.

An earlier bedtime.

Ten minutes without your phone when you get home.

Whatever YOUR foundations need.

Then lay the brick.

Tomorrow?

Lay another.

Miss one?

Fine.

...Lay the next fuckn brick.

Don't turn one missed brick into abandoning the whole house.

You don't need January 1st.

You don't need perfect conditions.

And you definitely don't need another motivational speech.

You need to decide what you're building...

And then start behaving like the person who builds it.

Because 90 days from now...

Your intentions won't be standing in front of you.

Your accumulated actions will.

So ask yourself:

If I keep laying the same bricks I've laid for the last 90 days... do I actually want the life they're building?

If the answer is no...

Good.

You know something needs to change.

And you don't need to wait until Monday.

Or next month.

Or January.

Today is a brick.

Lay it well.

Brick by brick. 🧱πŸ”₯
