Stop beating yourself up, parents. ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿฟโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Hello Reader,

News of the Week

Do you lie awake replaying every single parenting fail...?

This week I literally failed in front of my kids.

This week, during Winter festival, we went as a family together on the ice rink.

Our boys were excited...

Little did they know that their dad is hopeless on the ice hahahaha

I'm quite literally like a fuckin new born baby giraffe, learning to walk for the 1st time.

Picture that baby giraffe... long limbs, arms flailing, zero coordination.

...that's me on ice!

My last memory of being in the ice rink was with my cousin, probably over 20 years ago.

And I sucked back then too.

But hereโ€™s what stuck with me:

As parents, we expect ourselves to be steady all the time.
To never slip, never fumble, never embarrass ourselves in front of the kids.

But parenting is full of wobbly moments... like being a giraffe on ice.

And sometimes, that wobble turns into guilt.

The โ€œI shouldโ€™ve done betterโ€ฆโ€ stories we replay at 2am.

So here are 3 ways Iโ€™m learning to deal with parental guilt:

โœ… 1. Remember what they really see.โ€‹
My kids didnโ€™t care that I looked like a baby giraffe.
They loved that I was out there with them.
Your kids donโ€™t remember the perfect version of you.
They remember the present version.

โœ… 2. Share the fail - donโ€™t hide it.โ€‹
When we pretend to be perfect, we raise kids who think they have to be too.
Your honesty about messing up gives your kids permission to be human, too.

โœ… 3. Shift the question at night.โ€‹
Instead of lying awake asking, โ€œWhere did I fail today?โ€
Try: โ€œWhere did I show up today?โ€
Because you did. Even if it was wobbly.

The truth?
Youโ€™ll have more days where you feel like the baby giraffe.
But thatโ€™s better than sitting on the side lines watching life go by.

Your presence matters more than your perfection.

Stay strong, stay steady... and if youโ€™re wobbly, stay in the game anyway.

Your kids are watching.
And theyโ€™re learning more than you know.

Look, we are all imperfect parents going through life... but as a community we support each other, have each others back and we have fun along the way! No fluff, just real parents getting fit, having fun and navigating life... take a look ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฟ
