God can't steer a parked car

News of the Week

This week we explored the winter lights display in town.

The boys loved it.

The colours. The music. The atmosphere.

Last year I was on the ice rink looking like a baby giraffe trying to learn how to walk for the first time πŸ˜…

This year?

With my groin injury...

There was absolutely no chance of me stepping onto the ice.

So instead, we walked.

We explored.

And I spent a little time appreciating the beauty of it all.

As I looked around at the lights, I found myself thinking about God.

His creativity.

His wonder.

The way He plants dreams, ideas, and desires inside our hearts.

And a thought landed with me:

God responds well to clarity.

Most people say they want more from life.

But they're vague.

"I want to get fit."

"I want to be happier."

"I want more money."

"I want a better life."

But what does that actually mean?

What does fit look like?

What does success look like?

What does a better life look like?

Most people never get specific enough to know.

And then there's commitment.

Because clarity without commitment changes nothing.

You can clearly see the life you want...

But if your actions don't match the vision, nothing changes.

You say you want more energy.

But you keep neglecting sleep.

You say you want to lose weight.

But your daily habits don't support that goal.

You say family is your priority.

But your calendar says otherwise.

Your actions reveal your true priorities.

Every day.

Whether we like it or not.

Your focus is a signal.

Your habits are a signal.

Your environment is a signal.

Your daily actions are a signal.

Not just to God.

To yourself.

They tell you what you actually believe is possible.

One thing this injury has taught me is the power of getting clear.

The first thing I asked my physio wasn't:

"When will I be healed?"

It was:

"What can I do?"

Because clarity creates action.

And action restores hope.

So here's my challenge for you this week:

Get clear.

What do you actually want?

Not what sounds nice.

Not what you think you should want.

What do you genuinely want for your health?

Your family?

Your faith?

Your future?

Write it down.

Pray about it.

Then start acting like it's already important.

Because God can do amazing things with a person who combines faith with action.
